NEW Patient Sharing 'Hints & Tips'
We wanted to share with you some things over the years that have been said to us:
** TOP TIP ~ 'I CAN'
* Ask, never be afraid
* Not to be frighted of cancer
* Make use of all the facilities available to you
* Try and think about cancer positively
* Great support is offered from our centre at Ipswich Hospital
* Do not loose touch with you friends as they help to keep things in prospective
* Continue to go out and socialise
* Don't wait to be afraid, pop in to the centre for a tea and a chat and share news.
* Holding onto feelings without sharing can be harmful- learn to share.
* Accept change
* Don't lay in bed on the side of breast surgery- this can ease the pain
* For breast pain- use a pillow between your breasts, while lying down- this will ease the pain
** In England, prescriptions are FREE for people with cancer. If you need prescriptions for things that are related to cancer or its effects, you can apply for an exemption certificate. You need to collect an FP92A form from your GP surgery or oncology clinic.
In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, prescriptions are free for everyone.
CHATTERBOX.... is another word for a two way conversation!
